My friend recently got a Magic V installed into his v10. It started off fine and then he changed his ps2 into either sleep or ps1 mode (hold eject until tray comes out) and now he's unable to use his controller for anything.

He tried turning it off for 5 seconds then turning back on. Sometimes he gets black screens booting a CD-R (rip) backup of GTA3 and now his dual shock 2 controllers won't work for it but somehow the dual shock 1 controller does work. He's tried 2 different dual shock 2 controllers and they both don't work. But they did work BEFORE he first changed modes...

And before he said the analog LED on the dual shock 2 did not light up, but I told him to use the standby -> reset -> eject -> reset again to boot and the dual shock 2's analog LED now lights up but none of the buttons work. Anyone know what is wrong?!

PS: the dual shock 2's work in the browser and system setup screens so they can't be broken.

there are two small plates in each controlers plug which ground the controller. Push the cover by hand and check if they are bend causing a short...
