Well I modded a V7 Magic 3.1 for one son works great and now killed a V4 gap for my other son. On V4 gap messed legs up where G and D wires go. Will have to get a new PS2 and will be a V10. Just want to play backup games mainly. What is the cheapest, easyest chip to install, and most stable also. I know the Magic 3.1 I have will not work for V10. Any other issue on V10 I should know? Thanks

Matrix MXL 2 USA is good for you because there is only 18 wires and it supports the v10.

The syndrome well and truly still exists
the reason behind it is still not known either only partly.

I agree on the MXL2, it is a good choice.
But are you sure that the V4 cannot be repaired? What do you mean that you "messed legs up"? Are the pins broken or just shorted?

Maybe a pro could repair it and it would be cheaper than buying a new PS2.

I vote for DMS3. HDD compatible, PS1 stealth, DVD region free, Dev.olution mode. Mega Memory 16 compatible, just to name a few.
The Yellow PS2 auto-boots all. PS2, PS1 stealth and DVD movies.

The pins, one is broken and I used a wire to repair. Got PS2 games to work but not PS1. Tried to do some more repair got a bridge, shorted. Used a solder wick to remove solder and I believe now some of the pins may not be soldered to the board. To much for me. Mabe some one could repair. I think four pins need to be resoldered. Mybe I could post a picture of the area later.
