v1 ps2 question - i feel hopeless (attn: guichi) –

hello all,
i'm pretty new to ps2 modding, and i'm getting confused with all of the chip options. i have a usa v1 ps2, date code 0d and bios 010. i want a chip that will no-swap everything, swapping doesn't seem worth it (i'd just trade systems with a friend later)
i was hoping i could get an apple mod but found those are only good for bios 020. in another post i saw Guichi say that a "special version of x0-2" would help someone with the 010 bios, but I have no clue what this is.
any tips anyone?
thanks!

I think www.lan-kwei.com sells an x0-2 chip that supports your system, but if I were you I would just wait for the Messiah 2.

do you know when the messiah 2 is coming? and also is it supposed to support such an old version as mine?
i actually thought messiah 2 was out, but i guess i meant magic 2, so many chips :x

The Messiah 2 is supposed to come out late October/early November and is supposed to support ALL versions.

Is there any chance the x0-2's will drop in price after the release of the Messiah 2 and Magic 3?

sorry to keep bothering you guys, but thanks for the incredibly fast replies.
i couldn't find the x0-2 on www.lan-kwei.com, but i've also had a few too many ****tails. 2 questions:
is the x0-2 completely non-swap? and
do you guys know where else deals them.
thanks again!

I'd guess that all depends on whether the Messiah2 lives up to its one-size-fits-all marketing hype or not.
If it does, odds are it stands to become the new 500 lb gorilla on the block. There's room enough in the marketplace, but my take is that the others will be lucky to flush out their current stock to the unwary who are still ripe to be duped out there.

Yes the x0-2 is completely non-swap. Lan-kwei can't advertise modchips (for obvious reasons), so you need to e-mail them for info about it.

i ordered a X0-2 for my V1 bios 010 from psxtune. How long does it usually take to receive it? The price of the X0-2 from Lan-Kwei is 49 i think and psxtune is 89.

I got my xo-2 from psxtune via DHL Express shipping. It shipped friday and I received it here in the states on monday at 10am
Has the 010 XO-2 been confirmed to work on 010 systems using the diagrams that were posted here in another thread ???
