V1 Ps2

I was wondering how the messiah 2 pro chip performs with a version 1 PS2

it performs the same with any ps2

But the v1 laser was terrible so backups might not always boot or even at all. I had a v1 and wanted to get a moded ps2, so I sold my v1 and got a new v7. You should consider the same thing.

I had my v1 modded by bill and never have had a problem w any games only drawback it only plays dvd-r. I use verbatims, but i might follow bighaps advice if you can sell you v1.

do you mean it doesnt play cd-rs??

also, wheres a good place to sell besides ebay?

no not at all it plays cd-r's it just doesn't play dvd+r"s everything else is fine. Where the newer version of ps2 play both dvd + & -
Try a family member who wants one that is not modded or flea market garage sale etc.

You can get the most on ebay. People can be pretty stupid on there. That's where I sold my v1 + 5 games for $285.

It included Vice City so that helped a lot, especially since the game had only been out for about a week.
