I have a v1 ps2 and neo 4 chip on it. I removed the chip completely and no video or sound when booting. I dismounted one of the surface thingies with a capacitor to fix the issue but I think I messed it up. Can anyone tell me what I removed looking at the picture. I circled the component that I destroyed. What can I use to replace it? any radio shack parts?

loy or others? any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This could be a bios splash or something. Plus with a Neo 4 you have to repair a cut track. The install manual requires that you have to cut a track. You could bridge a fuse but I dont think its good. I hope this helps.

I doubt it is a bios flash. I dont think Radio Shack has it.

@messiahfan2003: thanks for the reply, I do remember cutting a track. Do you know if it would cause "no video" problem? The CD tray also doesn't come out. Can I just solder the two ends together to fix the track?

As for the destroyed component, am I really hosed? any chance I can recover from it? Thanks for any insights.

You could try bridging the component but then again you might destroy it. Try checking the value if you have a multimeter and set it up. Try reparing the track and that migh help. The BA chip or drive board might not work too. I hope this helps.
