v1 bad noise

guy brought me his ps2 after he failed at chipping his version 1 ps2. When i turn the system on there is a bad distorted noise that doesnt go away.. the video is fine just the sound is f*cked up. Anyone have any suggestions?

Solder splash is the usual reason. Might be wires crossing over components instead of lying flat on the ground plane.

no chip int it anymore... ill go over the board with mag light and see if theres any splashes of solder bridging anything
