Using a eur power supply on a us ps2

Hi. A friend of mine has just brought his us ps2 to europe. He tried to make it work using a trick he read about japanese consoles (removing 2 diodes) and the ps2 didn't turn on (and the power supply broke down). He is thinking of getting a power supply for a european ps2 and place it in his us ps2 so he thinks that the final "output" of the power supply to the ps2 mother base must be the same in both models. Is he right? I mean, does any1 know if you can put a european power supply into a us ps2?

Yes just swapping in a Euro power supply (from the same model usually) works OK.

. So it will work as a eur console (I mean, i could plug it without any problem at 220V in Europe) but being his us console ntsc with his us games? Good news

BTW, has anyone tried it before?

Powerwise it will work as a Euro PS2, but you are still running NTSC, and limited by region coding.

yup is the same exact ps2 just has a euro power supply
