I have a Ps2 SCPH-30001R USA/NTSC with a Messiah 2 installed.
Does anyone know if this Messiah 2 that I have works also for the new ps2 avaible right now in the USA ( April 2004 ) ??
Is it important for u guys know what type of Messiah 2 I have ??
I don't know if exist more than 1 version of Messiah 2 , but mine has a cut on the back ( is like a cutted circuit on the back )
I want to buy a new ps2 and I would like to know if I can use my old Messiah 2 to play dvd+r cd-r and original and imports as I did with my old ps2 v5 ( I have a pal/ntsc vcr where I attach my ps2 to play ntsc or pal games )
thank u
Marco

dont do it. im pretty sure it will not play dvdrs and has a pretty good chance of frying your ps2. the only options you have are either to repair your old ps2 or go out and get an updated chip for the new v9/v10 ps2s.

Old messiah can not work for the new PS2. I am pretty sure about that. Sony always improve something in the new PS2 to avoid mod chip. So the old should not work based on this concept. SONY NEED TO MAKE MORE MONEY.

Sony always improve something in the new PS2 to reduce their production costs...
They don't even loose 1 minute of their time in trying to prevent modchip installations in the PS2.
Of course this does not mean that they make it easier, they simply make thair changes to the new PS2 version and do not care about the mod at all.
