USB Cooling fan, Magic 3.1 Automatic Sleep mode ?
USB Cooling fan, Magic 3.1 Automatic Sleep mode ? –

Im still seeing freeze reports on GTA:VC and KH with the Magic 3.1. I haven't played any of these games with it so I don't know. I read it was a overheating problem. Then I ask someone else, They say it is due to the Chip going into sleep mode automatically ? I thought It only done it when you held Reset/Eject down ?
Last question, Was wanting to know if the USB Cooling fans helped any for the Ps2 ?
Thanks,

don't you mean pwr/reset ? I don't know, I could be wrong...
to re-enable it, you just pwr off (not reset) then on, right? (that's how it was on the old ps1's....)

Power and Reset ? There is only 2 buttons in the front of the Ps2. The Reset/Eject Buttons. The Reset Button turns the PS2 on from Standby. Maybe that's why your referring to it as Power.

Maybe Ill just mod my case so that I can have a fan over top of the chip.. That will help. But I wouldn't know how to get power to it :-\

its not the chip overheating itself i dont think, i believe its the components having too much voltage through it so they dont function properly

has anyone tried to power the m3 with 3.3V to lower power (heat) consumption or does it only work with 5V? The old ps1 modchips took 3-5V for power....

The Magic 3.1 had auto slept capability after several minutes ( or sec..??), so it will turn off by itself..
