Which US version PS2 has the BEST Lens
Which US version PS2 has the BEST Lens –

With so many lens threads, I'm worried
. My V3 PS2 broke down, possible laser problem. I have one other PS2 in the house, it's a V1 still kicking strong. I'm looking to replace my V3, probably with a V7 but before I replace it I would like to know which PS2's have the best lens?
Thanks for the help.

The v5/6/7 laser is the strongest.

Thank you for the information, I'll go with the new V7 then. Local places only sell Magic2's so I'll go with that for it.

i've had better luck with the version 5's...not because the laser is better, but the drive needed to be adjusted on about 1/4th of the version 7 mods i've done....

Are you doing the same adjustment on all the V7 that you had problems with? I also seem to encounter a large percentage of V7 which refuse to boot my DVDr that boots consistently with V5.

truthfully I think the v6 has the best lense... its the open one with noo sony logo on it... I have 1 for myself and it boots everything

I agree with Madkao on that one...the v5/v6 lens without the full black casing around it is the best i've seen...i've got mine sitting in a box, for when i decide to keep a ps2....i've had 2 v7's now that wouldn't boot dvd-r...charlie has a tutorial on how to fix this somewhere around here... i think it's stickied....
