US Messiah worked perfect, not anymore.

Just bought a Pre-modded NTSC messiah PS2 from Lik-Sang. Worked great for about a week. Then it started behaving funny. I would have to press reset a few times to get a PS2 backup to boot. Now it won't boot one at all. When I start PS2 orriginals it will boot but then the intro movie will skip profusely and everything will take forever to load. Tried booting PS1 orriginals and backups and they work perfectly. DVD Movies however do the same thing PS2 orrignals do, it skips like crazy.

I opened the system and cleaned the lens of some debris, but still no dice.

Any help towards a solution would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Please get back as soon as possible, I've been without playstation for 3 weeks now!!

Did you read my Troubleshooting Guide about skipping movies? It may be that you need to install a 1uF capacitor (35V polarised Tantalum) in the S SCEx line.

There may be other problems like the W or RESET wire has come adrift. So a pro needs to look at it.

Any recommendations of a pro to look at it? I'm pretty good with my electronics, but since I botched a messiah install on my last PS2 am quite warry. Thanks in advance. I'm just glad to know that there's some hope.

Well you could be anywhere but I assume it's in the USA otherwise you'd have said.
