I attempted the color fix for v7 ps2 to play NTSC games in color on a Pal machine and all I got was a blank screen on bootup.
I removed the wire and everything was normal again untill you press reset where it then boots in NTSC and is black and white.
Has anyone any idea on how to fix this as its very annoying.

Any help would be apreciated very much.

There seems to be a lot of confusion with the V7 GH-019/GH-022 pal PS2's.
There are currently two hardwire color fix's on this board. Some people say it has worked for them and others say not.
I also know of a code color fix for a pic, Nobody seems to know were the chip/pic needs to be placed.
I think that this fix is the way forward.
As I remember a Member saying something about the two decoder chips together in v7, more difficult? I'm not 100%

Reading your post again I see your talking about the forced pal/ntsc game only fix. I have tried it on two V7 GH-019/022, Works fine, are you taking the point to ground?
I was talking about the DVD color fix.

    Yes thats the one.
With the wire in place it wont boot just a blank screen.
Now if the ps2 is left switched off for a few hours it boots in pal but after reset is pressed back to black & white.

The mobo is a GH-018 chipped with a Magic 3.1 if thats any help.

It must be a problem with the main board somewhere.
