Two V4 machines refuse M2's???
Two V4 machines refuse M2's??? –

Early this week I had two PAL version 4 machines to mod with Messiah 2 Pro's and neither PS2's would work with them.
I tried a total of four M2's, but they flatly refused to boot any backups what so ever, either PS2 or PSX. Luckily I had a couple of spare Messiah 1's left, so I fitted them with the original wiring and both machines booted perfectly. So before anyone quips in about connections, wiring etc., it shows that my install was ok, since I didn't change my wiring.
I tried two of those suspect M2's in two version 7 machines and they worked perfectly. So God only knows why they refused to work in V4's???
Just two days ago 2 of my installs have bounced, one a version 5 and the other a version 7.
The version 5 boots backups when it feels like it, but the version 7 refuses to boot anything, including originals. I've yet to bust them open to find out whats gone wrong, and I'm dreading that this may be a problem with the M2's that could just now, be surfacing.
I've checked all my chips to make sure that the track cut has been done and there's no indication what so ever of any continuity, so I know the track has been truly cut.
I'm just wondering if anyone else is having problems similar to mine???

i would say the clk pin point on ps2 board has gone short circuit the track is not connected to the clk pin ic this is the only cause if all the wiring works with the messiah 1 this is the only point not used on the messiah 1 i did a v4 pal yesterday with a pro and all was fine this would cause all 4 chips not to work its probable this was the cause there really is no other explanation for it.

Hello EnTiTy,
Sorry for the late reply.
Problem solved with those two V4's not liking the Messiah 2's.
I was using the install diagrams from when they were first released and unknown to me, there was a mistake with them. The reset point was in the wrong spot, but from checking on them last night on the Messiah 2 web site, its been rectified.
I twigged last night while I was doing another V4 with a Messiah 2 Euro, that the reset point didn't look right. I confirmed it when I checked out the diagrams on the M2 web site. The V4 I did last night booted fine, so thank God that issue has been sorted.
Thanks so much for your suggestions and your 100% correct that the fault should have been the Clk point, but looks like it was an oversight rather than a fix with the reset point. Once again, many thanks.
