    Hi,

as far as I have read, there are apparently no failures with the newer revision of the slim PS2s. So I think it would be a nice thing for owners of the old one to be able to "turn" their PStwo "into" one of the newer revision. Not literally, of course, but by applying by hand the modifications that Sony made to the new revision. This should be possible by comparing a V12 board to a V12.1 board. One obvious difference are the resistor values for the CD/DVD driver which is easy to patch.
So if anyone supplied high resolution boardscans of both (major) revisions, maybe other differences could be pointed out and applied to the older boards. Just an idea. How about it?
Can you tell what revision a PStwo is from the outside of the package? I am thinking of buying another one just to compare them but how can I be sure to get a new revision? (The Japanese models don't have datecodes, so that can be ruled out.)

I still don't see any problem with my PSTwo (v12.0).

If you want v12.1 so bad, just return our "old" console and get a new one. If you're lucky, you'll get v12.1.

It's dead and modded (CC10), chances are zilch that I can get a replacement. I want to replace the pickup and make sure that it can't happen again. So preventing the "mechacon" from crashing must be the main objective.
