Turning PS2 off entirely
Turning PS2 off entirely –

I've been thinking about this for a while now, and since I just ordered a premodded PSTwo with a Matrix Infinity, I would like to go ahead and ask this question. When I am done playing my PSTwo, is it best to flip the switch in the back to turn the PSTwo off, and just flip it again when I get ready to play it again? I've heard that when you have a modded system, it's best to do this.. And I'm not totally sure if it's the truth or not. Also, is it bad to play the PSTwo that is modded for a long period of time? Say, over two or three hours at a time? I've heard of very bad overheating problems and the PSTwo burns up or something.. Thanks for any answers I can get

This is true with old stile ps2 chips and some of the crap chips they get stuck in one mode and need full power drain and reset. on any ps2 console it is best to paly for 2 hrs then shut system off as it seas in the manual for fat and slim consoles.. Ive played on my slim for over 4hrs. Ps2 can tell when it gets to hot it will shut its self down b4 it frys out the MB

PS2 has built in protection? Is that the protection for the v13 and up, or is that something different? Also, thanks for the answers =) I think I'll just switch my PSTwo off totally just to be safe... And I guess I can play it as long as I want, but I'll play it safe. Another thing is, do all Matrix Infinity chips have the sleep mode? I heard that MI has sleep mode that turns off after you boot? I'm not entirely sure.

heat watch is on all ps2 system slim and fat. One of my customers from cuba sead his system shuts off after 1.5hrs of play during the day, And is fine at nite. Also mi turns off after the patch rutie as do most chips sence after magic 3.1 days. If you relly want to turn your system off just put it on a power strp or go to Raido shack or Frys and buy one of the remot on/off power adapter it will plug into the wall or power strip and comes with remot.
