    Hi all,

Was hoping to find an answer but cant seem to

So hoping all you ps2 experts can help

    I just chipped a slimline ps2 v12. with a Matrix Infinity.

the ps2 boots fine but i cant get it to read the firmware cd? just come up with the red screen of death

i Presume the chips come empty like xbox chips?

I have tried holding circle and triangle during boot but ps2 just boots normally?

I have tried an original game and that boots fine.

    Please Help

Ps have installed numerous chip with this one being the first to cause me probs

Try holding down the reset button for 3 seconds with the update disc inserted.

If it is home brew chip you may have to hold the X i think it is during boot up(try them all)...
Other than that, you might have gotten an older chip with a not compatible firmware, in which case, check out the instructions for updating in the software section, you will be looking for Infinity manager 1.36, and follow the instructions in the two readme's...

Does it make any difference that this chip is a matrix inifinity homebrew?

this chip surely does what all other chips do?

Yes it does matter, not a lot albeit, but you just flash the chip differently, i think it's something along the lines of with the upgrade disk in, power it up and hold x on the controller( might be one of the others, can't remember for sure ), that should get you to the flashing screen...

    right guys.

have held X whilst booting and i get the "the matrix team" screen

But when i put a cd with the firmware in, it comes up with illegal disc?

Does it matter what firmware i use? have tried 1.45 and 1.39.

thnx for all your help so far.
