Trouble with a Magic V clone
Hey,
I originally had this chip installed in my v10 PS2 and it worked fine, so I know it's good. But i'm having trouble installing it on a v9. Here's the situation.. put in a real game, plays great. Put in a DVD-R game, it boots to black screen (after the sony stuff) while disc constantly spins, or if you put the disc in after you get to the browser screeen, it just sits there.. not frozen, but not doing anything.
I've checked all the points, i lost the original diagrams for this chip, so I am trying to use the Magic V diagram while adjusting for differences. One thing is i'm not sure if this clone is 5v or 3.3v.. I have it hooked up to 3.3 per the magic V instructions, but i'm not sure.. below is a picture of the Magic installed in a v10. Perhaps you could follow the VCC and see where it's hooked up. I dunno if that's 5v or 3.3.. i think it's 3.3.

I first thought it was the CD/DVD points, but I went over all of them and they all seem good (unless some of the letters are different from my chip and the Magic V)
