trouble finding 0.1mm tip

i have a 30W circuit test sr-1530 soldering iron and i am having trouble finding a 0.1mm conical tip for it ... are there even 0.1 mm tips for this model ? i live in vancouver , canada and i phoned radioshack and they said they don't carry any ... so where would i find a 0.1mm tip from ...

also has anyone ever created a video guide of soldering onto the ps2 ?

1. if you have a v5-v7 you dont need a .1mm tip. it can be larger than that.

hmmm .. the smallest soldering iron tip on the M.M.NEWMAN site is 0.3 mm ... i have a V9 PS2 and im planning on modding it with a DUO2SE ... the soldering iron i have currently is a circuit-test sr1530 (30W) and i am able to get a 0.4mm tip for it locally ... is it possible to mod a v9 with a 0.4 mm tip .. or is a 0.1mm tip required

u don't need a small tip in the first place. if u do and can't find the tip u are looking for u can grind a regular tip into a needle point but seriously u don't need such a small tip

also for v9 u don't need to solder to the pins u can solder to the vias. a .4mm tip is well enough to solder to the pins. i use a 1 mm tip that degrates to like 2 mm or so after many uses

i found this 15-watt soldering iron on radio shack's site ... http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...2051&hp=search

however, they don't mention what the size of the tip is ... this seems to be a fairly popular soldering iron as i've seen it recommended in several ps2 modchip installation guides.. does anyone know what the size of the tip for this soldering iron is ?

I've soldered plenty of PS2s (all versions, even V1 on contoller chip legs) with a Weller ST7 (0.8 mm) tip. Controller chip legs were next to impossible (but doable), everything else was a breeze.

I recently upgraded to the (illegal

) HAKKO 941 iron + a 0.2 mm tip. That works like a charm, but I didn't necessarialy need it, it just makes the job go a little faster.
