Tray Problem with v3 ps2 :(

Ok this is the situation: I have a v3 console with (at the moment) no chip installed. I friend of mine tried to solder a magic 3 chip into the ps2, but that did´nt work. So we brought it to a proffesial installer. I waited 2 days, and then he gave me a call.The guy said he could solder it, but the damage (check the attached file) from the previous install was so big, that the ps2 was broke. When i came home, i checked my ps2, and he was running just fine. The only problem there was, was that the tray would open, but he won´t close again. Now i have to push the tray back in kinda rough to get the laser to work :(. Does anyone know what it could be?? As you can see on the attachment there is some major damage on the motherboard. We removed some solder and we set the pins straight again, so the damage is not so bad as on the picture. Is the damage to the motherboard the problem or can it be something else??

I once had a problem like yours...
after check, I found that the person that tried to install the magic in the V3 'removed' solder on the second leg of the '103' (check the picture!) when he removed the 'Z' point.
The contact was not good anymore!
I used some cold Ag conductor glue with a theet pick to restore the connection...
Now, the V3 works fine!

just make sure it's making connections where it should.

Ok i got some more info that could help to find the problem:)
My ps2 plays dvd-original,psx copy,psx-original, ps2 cd original, ps2 dvd-original. The rest failes to boot :(. The blue eject light is always on, and the tray does´nt want to close. Does any of you guys now why the blue eject light is always on, if i can fix that maybe it will solve the booting problem.

so basically the only thing that dont work is ps2 dvd & cd copies

I really apriciate some help here, cuz i don´t have the money 2 buy a new ps2. And this is about the only place where you get good advice :)
