transparent glue on modchip wires
I have a v7 US PS2 and plan on purchasing a dms3 v2 chip. Is it good?(from some posts ive seen there is no problem, and others some problems like red screen, etc) . Also i plan to do the install by myself(i have done all my ps1 installs and repairs with no problems) but it seems this ps2 modchipping will be a challenge. I mean to do it the best possible and needed recomendations on how to do it. I have seen pictures of installs and they show a transparent glue to stick the wires to the motherboard( i usually used just normal electrical tape), and needed to know what is this glue. Is it the heated glue gun type or ome other type of glue? it looks much cleaner , and electrical tape has the tendency to loose its grip during time due to heat-cooling-heat-cooling cycles it has to go through.
one more thing which i havent seen posted anywhere. There is a dms3 clip available and wanted to know if its a good idea to use it. it reduces the number of soldering points to use, but i wonder if its just safer to just go through soldering of all 23 wires?
Thank you for your kind help.
