I was talking in another thread about a way Toxic might be able to run on a Matrix or CC chip. The company I do some work for we have a way around Actel F-Locks mostly because of the work they do with Actel's. Anyway I think I could make Toxic OS run on a MI or CC chip because they Use Actel based chip's Because the Toxic OS is doing a few calls to some Machine address designed to the Actel that ***4 uses. now please relise I have not cracked anything at this point I'm just looking at what can be done. In order to crack somthing you have to make it work with out the depentant. Now I didn't really think about this at the time I was looking at all of this. but the MI and CC chip don't have enough space to store this OS in the firmware. Unless we rewrote the entire chip and used all 3megs of the Actel. But thats not going to happen. so Next someone said why not make an elf. But I can tell you that won't work. they are looking for some address calls and F-Locks on the Actel ***4 chip. So what can I do. Well I could correct thoes calls to fit a MI chip or a CC chip. But I would have to find away I can do that with a elf for each chip. And I think I could do that with not much more work. But here is a problem I will face if I do that. if anyone decodes thoes Efl's they will have the F-Lock codes to unlock the Actel chip of a CC or a MI chip. That means any clone chip maker could make clones of their software re sell it on any type of chip they want. now I don't want to take that risk but If anyone has another Idea I could try I would like to know. While I was typing here I just thought of another Idea. How big of a Elf file is too big?

In a few words : because he doesn't know what he is talking about

Anyone who has worked with fpgas can tell you that by the way he talks, he doesn't even understand how fpga works.
But I guess that talking about complicated stuff makes him feel good

Even if the code in the actel was extracted it would be useless to the homebrew community. FPGA compiled code, unlike microcontrollers', can't be decompiled back to a vhdl file which can be understood and modified.

Of course using toxicOS without the *** could probably be done anyway.
It's just software and with the right amount of work it should be possible to crack it with no need to open any actel chip at all.

    That was a bit harsh.

    That would have been sufficient.

    I wish you luck Bizquick.

Unless there has been a huge communication problem, 90% of what he wrote didn't make any sense to anyone with some knowledge of fpgas.
Why someone would be willing to waste time making up stuff about "address calls and F-Locks" (WTF are they supposed to mean in that context?) is behind my comprehension. I just believe that real information helps the scene and everybody, bullshit doesn't help anyone and confuses people who are willing to learn.

If I think he is just trying to impress with his technobabble I prefer to say it upfront so that people might decide spending their time on something more valuable and gain real knowledge.
