I'm currently modding a US version1 PS2, and I'm about to have a go at desoldering the four pins that are securing the PSU to the back of the motherboard.
Before I do does anyone have any tips, tricks or anything to watch out for ?

Do a search for an V1 install. It was discussed in that thread.
Thanks that was just what I was after, I did do a search but missed that thread.
Why do you want to de-solder the back of the board? If you are looking for the S point, there is an alternative on the top. Find a neo 2 install diagram and use its point #2 for your S point. I just did one today and it works fine.
All the ponits are on the top of the mobo for any chip.
really? kool, back when i was gonna do my V7 magic 2 the damn diagram had a bunch on the back : (
r there any current diagrams with them all on top?
Unfortunetly you do have to desolder the mobo.Originally posted by thetieger

EDIT
Ignore the above, I just looked on the www.foundmy.com and they too have the scex point on the top side of the board.
