thinking of getting no solder mod chip
thinking of getting no solder mod chip –
I was thinking of getting the no solder modchip; I know that i need to use magic swap, but do they work well. Are all no swap ps2 mod chips equally difficult? I soldered my xbox, with xecuter 2.3 lite, but I'm sure the ps2 is a different story.
also is it possible to use the razor blade trick on all the points?
just don't .. save the $30 - $40 ( chip + magic swap disc ) for a none swap chip .. it does not make sense to get a swap chip now. ..
razor blade trick? you mean putting the blade between the bios pins? umm, it doesnt really work for any of the other points, and i dont see what it would accomplish either, as it only does any good when soldering to the legs of a chip.
and noswap modchips are trash. no they dont work well, yes you need to buy swapdiscs, and no they dont boot a lot of things.
if you're looking for an easier chip to solder, the duo is only 17 wires.
I'd go with a flip-top over the no-solder mod. They both suck, though.
what version ps2 do you have? if its a v7 or older, go wth a duo, thats any easy to install and good performing chip. andcheap too
I've got a v4 whats the easiest for that. Is it still a duo.
well for 4 I suggest getting a regular mod chip. I have a magic 3.1 (cheap and awesome)
I've soldered my xbox with xecuter 2.3 lite but the ps2 is supposed to be more difficult. If i mess up with solder would i be able to take the solder out, or is heat from the iron the real concern.
Is there a site the tells how to solder a mod chip, I'm not talking about diagrams, but actiaual steps or tips and all.
