Sounds like you didn't make connection with one of the points. Check your work again and make sure you have everything where it's suppose to be. If it gets too bad, just buy another modchip if DMS3 is too hard for you to install.
Matrix Infinity, Matrix MX4, or Crystal Chip are good choices. If you just want autoboot + advance dvd playback features then just go with the MX4. If you need memory card application launching ability and other advance features then go with the Matrix Infinity or Crystal Chip. You could also go to the down right basics with the Duo 2 SE which is a direct boot backup only chip.

Did you move the console around during that week? If you did the wires could've moved. It could also be because you have a bad chip and it failed on you after a week.

i did it for a friends son and he assures me it hadn't be moved around just sat i front of the tv (but i doubt his kids going to tell him he dropped it etc) i do have another ***3+ do you think it could be worth fitting that one?
have you heard of alot of chips just failing after a while?
i also have a modbo in another machine that i could fit?
theres a couple of links to the pics of the install below, the gnd wire is now around 2cm long now though down to the copper strip running down the side.

Ok, the problem is your ground and power wire. That is WAYYYYYYYY too far. That's probably why the chip is not patching the games and giving you rsod. Use the copper pad on the outter edge of the board for the ground wire. There's a 3.3v power point right above the chip, use that instead.
Use this power point: http://www.infinitymod.com/matrix/fi...V08/USA-V7.JPG

I usually use Duo 2 SE, Matrix Infinity, Crystal Chip and Matrix MX4.

If you're looking for the cheapest place and you don't need it quick, you can get it from worldmodchips.com. It'll take like a week for the chips to come. If you need quick service, xmodds.com could get them to do pretty fast. But he only got Crystal, Infinity, and Duos.
