Swapping motherboards from PAL to NTSC
Swapping motherboards from PAL to NTSC –

Hi!
I'm not sure if this is off-topic but since many people in this forum deals with hardware I've decided to post here.
Does anyone know if it's possible to swap the a V3 PAL motherboard with a V3 NTSC/US motherboard? I have an old V3 PAL and that would be an easy way to have a working NTSC console (e.g. I could use the HDD Browser).
TIA.

Hi Wertyyyyyyy
Providing your TV can accept NTSC you shouldnt have any problems, have swapped Pal V4 for Ntsc V4 without incident.

Hi! May I swap NTSC with PAL? i.e. if I buy a ps2 NTSC from US, to play in Italy with my PAL TV I have to install a modchip or what?

Thanks for your anwers, lads.
Currently I can play online NTSC games (I import 4 or 5 US games every year) with my V3 PAL but it's good to know I can swap the motherboards if necessary.
Both TV and mod support NTSC. The good thing it's there is no need of a stepdown converter.

In order to display the games correctly you need a NTSC compatible TV (in the last 10 years almost every TV sold in Europe support PAL, SECAM and NTSC) and a "full" SCART connector for colour information.
If you purchase a NTSC console and want to play PAL games you need to install a mod.
