I've only just started on this scene and first of all I have to say you guys are wonderful with noobs. I like many have gone beyond what xbox can do and now Im diving full force into ps2 modding. This site is great and this is my only second post so I will stop the a$$ kissing and get to the point.

I have been researching what chips to get. Confused I turned to these forums. And read and read and read. Finally after about a week of this I came down to the Matrix Infinnity and the DMS3. I was all set to get the infinity when I came across this super dms 3.3. Looking for a good seller I searched my xbox site(saddly my usual site doesn't sell ps2 chips) so I just started seaching and came across this site on the xecuter site. It showed this chip. I clicked and read up on it and it sounds like the holy grail. It says that it is autobooting (big in my book) and flashprotected (also big because I don't or can't hotswap it. IS this really the end all chip (for now) And more importantly where did it come from? I've been on the dms site a lot looking at it's specs (dms3 pro) to compare it. Well if this is true I know what I will be getting. Just got to find a US seller. Here's the site selling it.

Upon closer inspection this site looks like it says it;s only for v9 and 10. yet interesting enough I have found no evidence of it on the dms3 website. What is going on?

well looks like it uses a xlinx ic since its using a 54.5 mhz clock. Looks like another lame half ass clone from europe. Although i am curious is it actually has all the features i says it has.

Bah a clone. I really hate that. It takes away from the people that truly worked to create the original chip. That logged in countless hours creating something from scratch. I should have known just look at the price differance. It's that the way of the world today. Somebody creates something great and sells it. Then somebody else copies them and undersells it. Oh well back to the dilema of a real dms3 plus or the infinity.

Well thanks. Glad Im starting out on the right track.

For a rant about these clones. It really kind of hits home with me. Im a tweaking, modding, updating guru. I love to build custom pc's (trained as a network tech but now a roofer go fiigure that one out). And it is really hard to compete with company's like compaq, hp, and sad to say now even dell. It's even hard to sell to friends. Why? The common question is " Why should I spend more on your pc than a emachine's when it comes with all of this for less". To the average joe all they see is the dollar sign. It doesn't matter that you are buying a turd in a box that you would end up spending twice as much to fix when it breaks. They don't see that. So even with my ability and knowhow I still really can't compete. Now granted education is the key. Lets take Dell as an example (my how greatness has fallen). I used to like dell but now they are really shiping out turds. They give you pc with pentium 4 2.6ghz, 256ddr ram, Monitor, printer, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and all of the software for $499 . That's hard to compete with for the little guy. You can break it down and say...There are many pentium 4's out there what is the bus? Then 256 is low for todays standards. All of the video and sound is usually onboard. Plus most of the chipsets used in dell's boards are extremely ineffiect and have tons of flaws. Theres more but I better cut to the chase. The fact is even though I can build a (what I consider) good budget computer it still will run about 400 to 500 bucks. How can I compete. ?

I feel that this is the same basic principle as with these clones. Yea it's cheaper and it says it can do a lot but at what expence? Performance, reliability, or steping on the guy that created it. I would hope with a little education people will see though these clone chips. However the ruler usualy prevails and that is the all mighty dollar. And that is sad.
