installed it in a V4 w/ GH-013, no gap bios. DVDR, CDR PS2/PS1 all boot up fine. The problem is DEV1. I can't enter the mode, only see a black screen. Same memory card w/ a V9 + H2O works flowlessly. Wires are all checked. Any idea?

does h20 boot from mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF ? it sounds like the chip cant find the boot elf
turn off console at back for 10 seconds and then retry
yes, the chip boots from MC0:/BOOT/BOOT.elf. The same memory works w/ Modbo, DSM4 and a V9 w/ H2O.
I unpluged everything for 1/2 hour. Still no luck.
Replace another H2O into the V4, same happened. Used the 1st chip I removed from the V4 into a V7, work perfect.
I am afraid this is a small bug in the h2o firmware
All the bugs reported up to this point are fixed in the newest code, this includes:
-v4 dev1 mode
-having to disable the chip for originals
-some bootrate problems
-ps2logo patch (white box around logo on old ntsc machines)
As soon as we clear the old stock - the new one comes into play (1-2 months hopefully) it will be inside all h2o mods shipped after that date
Thanks for all the input and your patience :)
I installed 2 h20 last night, and i didnt have to disable chip to play originals?
Am i missing something? Is it only on certain models this is needed?
Depends on which version of PS2. V1-3 needs to disable the chip to play original and has logo problem that's for sure. V5-7 once a while.Quote:
