Strange v9 problem

Hi, I have a v9 pal silver ps2 that been fitted with a messiah 2 chip, its been fine for a couple of months but now recently it only plays ps2 discs (originals) for a couple of minutes then freezes, just wondering what would cause this and if there is anyway to rectifiy it, thanks.

Most likely it's a loose conection.

just get it reinstalled or checked jsut bring it back to who ever who installed it

hmm, Its not playing dvds at all now, I switch it on, the laser makes a clicking noise a few times then it takes me to the disc/memory card screen but it shows that a dvd is in there, Doesn't take me to a red screen or anything. It also plays cd based ps2 games like extreme g 3 fine though

Who installed the chip and why arent they answering these questions for you or fixing it themself?

You have a laser issue.

I have same problem, but only with DVDs, CDs works fine.
It seems that some component works until it is cold.
I have tried another laser and it works fine, therefore the problem is on the laser.
On the laser there are 4 capacitors: it is possible that one of they is broken? Someone knows to what serves?
