Strange chip in PS2 wich i bought......

Hi, got a simple question, does somebody know what chip it is.
Bought this PS2 yesterday want to mod it but before to do it, i wan`t know what chip it is and what does it do ???

The writing on the chip is:

12C508A
04/PGM5

0119

its a NEO2.2 ,can boot psx games and ps2 games CD-r (with help Action Replay2)
remove this chip

Thnx for the quick reply, gonna remove this one and put in a duo2se.....
The guy where i bought it from said that it didn`t boot DVD, now i know why.

hmmm, duo2se doesn`t work on V1-V3 PAL.....need to get something else, does somebody got a good advice wich chip ???

The Duo2 SE works fine in PAL V3's - never had a problem yet apart from tired/worn laser drive in this model.

Yip, you`re right.
I think reading is not my strongest point

V1-V2 PAL is not supported by the chip
