Just wondering what is the best option to route and stick the wires to the motherboard.
i bought this super glue type stuff from RS (nonflammable :) )
is this a good option...or should i go with glue gun...or something else?
also are there things i should avoid gluing onto...like certain chips?
and is electrical tape enough to keep the modchip down and secure?

If you look at the PS2 pictures thread, people have posted many different routes of wires. With the glue, as long as there isnt any metal infused in the glue, it shouldnt be any problem with you gluing onto chips and stuff. For my V12 PS2, I used painters tape, cause its pretty easy to remove if I ever needed to.Quote:

It seems like every time I?ve used glue on electronics, I?ve ended up regretting it because it complicates Upgrades, troubleshooting and repairs.
I use duct tape on my mods, only where needed to insulate and hold wires in place. I do not bother making neat rows of wires either. I just make sure they?re not where they can be pinched by shielding. In fact, running wires side by side can induce interference in such sensitive lines as the R wire on the Magic50K which shouldn?t be run along with the other BIOS wires for that exact reason.
Agreed. Electrical tape holds the wires in place just as well as hot glue, and it is *much* more convenient for insulating contacts and solder points.
If your PS2 is getting shocked or jarred enough for the wires to come loose from tape, then something else in your PS2 will probably also have gotten broken... making a loose mod chip wire the least of your worries.
I suggest double sided tape to hold the mod chip in place, and electrical tape for everything else. That is what's under the hood in my ps2
