About LinkBackshey i got a PS2 version 4 and was just wondering whats better in the 5 6 and 7 reason being i just bought a DMS3 and putting it in the version 4 is there ganna be any issues of running backup or anything and does the 5 6 or 7 have better backup play?

some v4 dont read dvd+r's well and some people have complaints of magic 3.1's not working quite well in a v4. like not booting dvd-rips.

My v4 boots everything you chuck in it no problems rips, dvdr-r dvd+r and its got a v3 laser in it!!!
I had a magic 3 in it and it worked 100% now its got a F-14 in and it works the same just boots faster.

i know that some work just fine. but with a v4 u have to see if the laser can handle dvd+r. some v4 do everything fine. some fail on stuff.

07-04-2003,08:44 PMThe problem with older machines is that they are old and got already some use, so are a bit weared off... So won't operate like the newer ones, obviously ... And latest models have some improvements on electronics which lowers the requirements on how good the laser is ... This translates in the unit working even with a nearly dead laser unit .... Neat, don't it ?
