I installed a No-Solder mod into his PAL v4 PS2 ages ago, and since he came back from holiday about a week ago, its somehow lost its ability to read ANY type of DVD, CD's work as they should.
What could be wrong with it?

I installed a No-Solder mod into his PAL v4 PS2 ages ago, and since he came back from holiday about a week ago, its somehow lost its ability to read ANY type of DVD, CD's work as they should.

K. Just removed the Mod, and its still not reading DVD's, just CD's.
When I put a DVD Disk in, I hear it tick a few times and can hear it spin up, and it keeps trying to read it, and eventually it just gives up and stops (And doesnt give me the Disk Read Error like I thought it would have).
I've had my no-solder modded PS2 longer than him, and havent had any troubles like this :|

What adjustments can be done to the PS2 that could possibly help it read DVD's? (Is there any pots on it somewhere?)
I wouldn't advise you to tweak the laser but you could always call sony and demand to have it replaced. I did the same and they're fixing it for free as we speak. Remember to take out the mod though.
