Solution to magic3 problems?
Solution to magic3 problems? –

Alright....so most of us all know by now, MAGIC3 definitely has some problems. This is NOT A media issue....or laser issue...or install issue. ( I am using the best media, burned at 2X, and its a new v7 premod system from genomods.com)
The problem arises very randomly. For CD-R games, and original games... there are no problems, everything works fine!
The problems come when playing DVD-R games. Specifically for me, its FFX International and Kingdom Hearts on DVD-R. The game will freeze in long ingame movie scenes...but its not just that! Most annoying of all, it will freeze in transitions of gameplay (E.G. when i leave a certain area, and new scene has to load) The screen will go black, as if it is going to load a new scene...and the music keeps playing, but the system freezes on the black screen...cant even use controller reset or anything. This occurs pretty randomly. I have played for 2+hours, to have it freeze...or sometimes i play for 5minutes, and it will freeze.
So, is there a genuine solution to this problem? I have heard several
1. disconnect Z wire totally
2. Solder 1uF capacitor to S wire
3. Move W point to W1 point
Can someone with experience try these different solutions....or maybe combination of solutions? (hehehe) I am a newbie at this, and i dont want to do anything to ****up my machine

HRMMM, another interesting thing to note...i have heard that the "downloaded copy" of kingdom hearts is bad (?) and that is why it is having problems? Can someone with a copy of the retail Kingdom Hearts refute this rumour i heard?

I tried all those and more, and with an original copy and a dvdr, and still freezes.. I already unsoldered my two magic3s and am returning them tomorrow.. I'm getting a messiah2.

I've not found the Messiah2 to be any more reliable than magic3!

Yep. I did exactly that and have not had a problem since.

Let's just say there is this guy named LOD that actually does the install diagrams for some of the chips that people are installing....he installed the Magic for me. So, to somehow suggest it is a problem with installation is to suggest that LOD did not do a good job. We all know that is false. Also, I believe there is a whole forum here, full of posts on problems with the Magic...how much more proof do you need? Let me guess, you are an installer of the Magic chips. Let me ask you this, do you think I went crying back to LOD about my Magic problems and demanded that he make it work when it didn't? No. Why? Because LOD did the job to perfection and it was not his fault that the chip did not perform. Do you really think that I am the only one in these forums that just sucked up the Magic problems without crying to my installer? I doubt it. Finally, let me ask you this...why did simply removing the Magic and replacing it with the Messiah solve my problems? Hmmmmmm? I know, you will have some reason why this happened.....same old argument....it can't possibly be the chip.
