Hi guys, new here. I have a slim PS2 but am having trouble finding a solderless modchip for it. I don't know if I trust my soldering skills to install a modchip myself, but am getting tired of swapping discs to play my back-ups all the time (and the ability to play DVD-9 back-ups is also a plus). Is there a solderless modchip available for the slim ps2?? Thanks in advance.

I would urge you not to get a solderless chip to many problems. Learn to solder on something else first. I installed a DMS4 chip with very little experiance, the web and forums are a great guide.

They do not currently have a solderless slim PS2 modchip, but as Jenko said, Team DMS is coming out with one that supports slim models. Personally I would pay someone such as norcalmods.com a.k.a. spedmetal and install a Crystal Chip 2.0 and he is pretty cheap plus the Crystal Chip 2.0 is one of the three top modchips out and is very relable.

A clip for the slim line is unfeasible.

Thanks for the info guys, looks like I'll give soldering a modchip in myself, I'm not new to soldering, so hopefully I don't have any problems. Just another quick question: What modchip do you all recommend (@ Breath of Fire, thanks for the suggestion, I'm taking it into consideration). Also, what seems to be the best online store to purchase modchips? The only place I've purchased in the past was modchips.com, this is where I purchased my Swap Magic Disk 3.6 and magic keys. Thanks again for all help.
