Soldering cd/dvd controller tips needed

I'm having major problems soldering the points on the cd/dvd controller (trying to install a messiah 2 pro 1.22a on a v.4 ps2). The points are too darn small. Any tips/tricks/pointers on how i can make this easier on myself? I've read and viewed the official guide, but i need more to make sure. Diagrams and/or pictures would be best so i could see what i am supposed to do. Thanks a lot. (Oh yeah, and i've got a flux pen, proper wire for all the points and proper solder, and a 12w soldering iron with 0.12mm soldering tip)

tin the wire flux it then put it directly over it then bring the iron over it then it should be good like in this pic
