I figured since Im not entirely sure that this is related to my modchip I figured I'd make two posts for a better chance of a reply..

So I've been running the Matrix infinity for awhile now on my V12. It was a horrible install. I had originally ordered the DMS4Pro and they sent me the Matrix infinity by mistake so I spent literally hours trying to install what I thaught was the DMS4Pro when what I infact had was the Matrix Infinity. After going to their website and comparing pics of the chip I had I decided to install the damn thing anyway. Either way after re-wiring nearly everything I finally got this chip working. Installed the laser fix board thing, that was a pain too.

Its been working fine for months now. I mostly watch DVD's on my PS2 anyway but today I tried turning it on and playing Fight Club and it just kept turning off right after the Matrix logo pops up. The weird thing is that the PS2 will boot up fine without a disc in and when it gets to the browser screen and I try to put a disc in it just turns right back off. Any Ideas?

    Thanks

Just that laser burnout protection board. I dont know its weird because it will boot up fine without any disc in it, and as soon as it begins to read one it turns off. That is, the red light comes on.

Something is definately wrong with the install. It would most likely be the bios points. (M-W points)

If you have a multimeter recheck your install and make sure none of the wires came loose.

If you have the "Pic fix" installed and have a dead laser it would do exactly that, the Pic fix will think it is a mechacon crash and will shutdown your Ps2 each time you insert a disc....
