silm ps2 wont boot DVD-r DVD-rw

I put a matrix infinity se into my new silm ps2, it play cdr, cdrw games fine, also can play DVD games( not original), but just can't use dvd-r or dvd-rw, i didnt try dvd+ or dvd+rw. Some one can help me ? thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jpno1, your problem doesn't make any sense. You can play dvd games, but you can't play dvd-r or dvd+r. What kinda dvd are you using? dvd-ram? =/

Hi, i know it doesnt make sense, but it do take place..... It play dvd games not dvdr or dvdrw. I use pioneer 108 writer, the disc is princo. I can play cdr or cdrw too. :S
The playable dvd games is dvdrom, some like original games, but can't use in unmodded consoles. Cost about US$50cents for each.

-r dont work with the new ps2 slimline just +r

-R's definately do work in SLIMs. I'd also recommend ruling out the media... go with a couple different and better brands... ridata, sony, imation, verbatim, fuji. See if that makes a difference.

jpno1 DVD disc is just like pirated PS2 game that sold in indonesia, its not DVD-/+R its not DVD-/+RW, its just like an original DVD, but sometime with low quality, the reflector is transparent, the disc very thick or thin...... indonesia C/DVD pirate made the disc itself with their own factory...
