Sorry to be a pain in the a**, but I was wondering whether there was another way of telling the difference between PAL V9 PS2s & V10s.
I know you can tell by the DVD driver version & by the motherboard, but I am going to take my PS2 V9 back to where I bought it & when they offer me an exchange, I need to be able to tell whether its a V9 or V10, without powering the thing on.......
Be real gratefull, as my son is desperate to play all his games.....which he can't at the moment, because I refuse to MOD a PAL V9, after reading all the S**T going on with them....

All this fuss about PAL V9s when upon further investigation I discover that this issue doesn't arise when you mod using the DMS3 v9 chip!
I'm gonna stick with my V9 & mod it using the DMS...........

Why do you think DMS3 V9 chips will not cause the problem?
I could swear I saw some posts here about PAL V9 consoles with DMS3 chips that also died...
