Hey im not sure if I should get a ps2 slim or a ps2 original. I heard things about modchips being fried in the new ps2, but im not sure. And is there a way to boot games right out of the console, like a hd advance system? And about modding your console. Is there a way to add a metallic fan cover, leds around it, and 2 4" cold cathodes in it? Thx for your support
I would say... get a normal one and for HD advance you need a network adaptor and an HDD and you can put ISO of game on the HDD.... Dont know any metal cover for 70mm fan but you coudl probaly do something..... you can add leds for sure.... for the cold cathode you could put it in the expension bay...
Get a new one... the SLIMS are dynamite (MHO). Then, pickup one of the clear cases (I sell the Xtender cases myself), and put a couple cathodes inside (probably a tight fit... never done this myself). I think that would look dynamite.
And the fixes currently available have made problematic SLIMS almost non-existant.

seriously I think you should wait for the ps3 its comming out soon, and it will more than likely be really powerful, plus the ps2 is dying out soon
But you know, PS2 still has got some great games.
As for Slim or not, I have a slim one and it looks great. It's like, 4x smaller than that huge hunk of junk. Of course I knew I was giving up the HD, which was fine by me...I wasn't going to plunk any more money down for that kind of stuff anyhow.
Ok so I guess I will just wait till the ps3 comes out. They should come up with all the goodies soon or a later.
Only do that if your gonna have $500~600 when it comes out because it's NOT gonna be cheap. Besides that it will still be couple of years anyway. Not to mention when any brand new system comes out there are virtually no games to select from (although I'm sure ps3 will be compatiable with ps2/1 games). I would buy a ps2, maybe a broken one to fix, and then enjoy it until ps3 comes out.
Does anyone know where to get a PS2 normal? I need a new one that has never been used thx
