As an addition to the problems I'm having here: http://www.ps2newz.net/forums/showth...&threadid=4470

I've also noticed that my PS2 keeps asking for setup information when it has a cold boot (powered off at the rear).

language, timezone stuff..it remembers for a warm reset or standby mode, but not for complete power off. Nonvolatile memory problem..?

    Anyone else seen this?
Could this help pinpoint my problems?

    Cheers,
    Pete

Sounds like your CMOS battery is either disconnected or dead.
