SCPH10000, mods, and USA! HELP!

hi,

since i'm new to ps2 modding, and i just got a SCPH-10000
from my friend for $125, what mod should i get?
being in the Los Angeles area, being cheap, and loving DDR
games, i'll need to be able to play original US PS2/PSX games
with [hopefully] no swap, and play backups of PS2/PSX with
no swap as well as original JP titles of both consoles.

What should get?

I've heard about 5 sides of the big mistery around my model:
- PSX imports play with no swap?
- PS2 imports play with no swap?
- should i get a AR2 or GS2?

in my case, are US games imports?

Yeah US game are import if you have a Jap system, the chip I suggest getting is the XO-10 from http://lan-kwei.com (You have to e-mail them about the chip since they remove it from there web-site) I have use it on my PS2 an have no problem with it. However you can not play original US PSX game on it you have to make a make a back up version and patch it with a Japan territory in order for it to work but as far as everything else it a great non-swapping mod for your system.

BTW it cost $30 lesser then ps2modchip.com
