Any ideas on the mainboard of this console yet? Even a chance of any current modchips working with it? Hehe, ANYONE EVEN OWN THIS PS2 YET?! I'd like to save up my money and get ahold of one to mod and have a ps2 that is better with DVD+R and has progressive scan DVD playback, but until it is officially moddable, I don't want it

Wow, is this new console just not selling, or has no one figured out the board revision just yet? Any heads up on the status of this console would be greatly appreciated

Dude....you're just a little too anxious. If you read the press release, the new SCPH-50000 and the new remote won't be released in Japan until May 15th Japan Time, which is May 14th, North American time.

The 50000 is GH-023 and, according to my correspondent in Japan who is sending the unit to me, has a different layout that doesn't make modchip implementation obvious.

So we'll get it here and whack a couple of mods on (when we can figure it out!) and see what happens.

I hope that ISDNMAN in China may be able to figure it out between now and when we receive the GH-023.

I see M2pro Ver.1.31 on the way for the 50000 unit. Same with DMS Chip coming out as well..
