actually, no chip currently works properly for the 39006 until today.

Just found out that Apple 39006 will be release in a few days time.

There is a bluechip out for 39006 now but it don't work with DVDR, only factory (stamper) DVD.

well most people (a.k.a me) use the stamper dvd, i mean if they want to sell systems in HK modded you will most likely find stamper dvds, or atleast i've seen that because at Bankok, Thailand, the places where i found games actually had stamper ones and no burned ones...

My side all using the stamper or pressed DVD.
And 39006 is the newest model in my local market now.

heh, my stores haven't gotten any modded jap models yet, thats why i walked around looking for AR2 the newest for DVD Region X, and they all had 2.01...

I have a 39006 model of the PS2. Just recently purchased and its modded. The chip installed was the Blue Messiah Magic 3 and yes it supports DVD9 games. You can read about the modchip at http://hk.geocities.com/mc12342003/

SCPH 39006, Board type GH-022, BIOS 090 (i.e. v8) - I have this here next to me as I type, chipped with a Messiah 2 v1.23D. Results all media boot perfectly including DVD9 (xenosaga original, gt3 hk "gold") - all media EXCEPT DVD-R.
