Is this a V7? And is there a no-solder mod available for it.

Before ordering the V7 no solder mod, I would suggest opening your PS2 and looking at something. We've tried no solder V7 mods on 3 V7 PS2s. It only worked on 1 of them. What your looking for is the style heatsink it has. If it has the long flat heatsink that covers basically the whole board, it should work. If it has two small chip sized heat sinks and a metal panel on the rest of the board, it probably will not work.

Get a Messiah2 and an installer and get done with it. It's sure better than a stupid no-solder mods. Some of them stop working after a while and you have to do a knife trick and swap discs and you can kill the laser because of it. I hope this helps!

I sold my v4 with a no solder mod in it, it meant nothing but trouble. I could sense the laser dying, so I got rid of it before it caused me any trouble. The stupid no solder mods mean nothing but trouble, do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on a M2 or the new DMS3 coming out soon, you'll spend it later anyways on a new no solder and laser unit after they burn out.
