I have a SCPH-37000L (v7) with a XO-37 chip from lan-kwei and I'm having some problems booting media and I'm not sure what is the cause of the problem. I'm not sure if it's the lens itself or the chip. I didn't install the chip myself, I had genomods.com install it a while ago but it seems their webpage is gone now. I'm thinking of replacing the chip with a DMS 3 but I want to make sure that it's the problem before taking it out and installing a new one.

I use Fujifilm (Taiyo Yuden) & Ritek DVD-R, and Ricoh DVD+R media to boot DVDRs, while using Fujifilm (Taiyo Yuden) CDRs to boot cdrips. When the games boot, the success rate is about 35% on DVD's. Sometimes it takes me like 10 times before I can get it to boot and the discs are brand new without any scratches. The success rate of cdrs is almost perfect. When the ps2 doesn't boot, I get either the red screen of death or the memory card screen. The PS2 logo shows up and it looks like the game is booting but then it goes to the memory card screen. Original PS2 games boot fine. Also, when I try booting either original and backup PS1 games, it doesn't boot at all. It just goes to black screen and the PS1 logo does not display then hangs indefinately.

    Thanks for your help.
