Can the Scex point use the entire resistor or just the left side?

My V7 's resistor has just a little space to solder on to and then you run into that black center strip.

If you can't solder to the entire thing, will bridging to the center strip be a problem, or is that just a nonconductive piece there in the middle?

you mean cap you can remove the cap if you like and just solder to the pad beneath it the chip supplys the signal for psx game's so it being missing wont cause a problem or just replace the cap with a 100pf cap which is the same value.

or just solder to the resistor next to it the 2 points are linked together have direct connection so soldering there will do just fine hope this helps.
