Sbox Question –
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW DO U SOLDER THE THING TO THE BOARD AND IF THE MAGIC SWAP DISK WORKS WITH THE MODCHIP AND HOW DOES THIS WORKS
same as no-solder chip...the wire u solder into it makes the ps2 think the dvd drive think it's closed when it's actually open. this allows you to swap disks back & forth with no prob. as far as installation, i got no clu, i never installed one of them.
emad: sorry, but you are dead wrong.
the sbox sends a scex signal through the wire. the ps2 will detect the disc tray opening and closing when you use the eject button, since it will try to read the disc. this is why the sbox can direct-boot psx backups, while the no-solder cannot. it is also why it can boot 80-min dvd rips.
from what i hear, the swap magic discs do work with it. unfortunately, as i have stated before, there is no "tray eject" function, as emad described. so you will not be able to boot dvdrs unless you use a swap trick of some sort.
k, coo. i didn't know exactly, that was what some ppl told me...
the sbox is the usb one isn't it? in terms of internal modification you have to soldier one link wire between two points on the ps2's motherboard.
