    Hi guys,

I have a s-box and V4 Pal PS2. Some of my racing games slow down and have jerky graphics when playing. I can fix this problem when i turn off s-box whilst playing or use the knife trick to boot up instead. My other backups like gt3 a spec and shox play perfectly. Anyone got this problem, is it the chip, laser ?

I have feedback from other s-box users and they also have similar problems like fmv skipping.

If i was to add a no solder mod with it could that solve the problems.

    Cheers.

i doubt it. i believe the reason for this is due to the "noisy" scex signa; that is constantly outputted by the sbox. this is why the problems dont happen when you turn it off. so just it off after booting..

It has been ripped to cd. It's a great game, weird graphics, also works with no mod chip.

Thanks for info M8, interesting stuff. Yeah i will turn it off after booting but you then get a clicking noise.

So i suppose i will have to live with that

    OK Guys got it working.

    I installed a capacitor (.47microfard 63v capacitor).

I Fitted it in and now it's superb. No more jumpy graphics or slow down. The funny thing is that now when i boot up with the backup just after the cd spins to load for the first time i switch the s-box off and then it loads. If i switch it on now it makes a clicking noise. So no need to leave it switched on anymore!!! Before it was the other way round, i had to leave it switched on for it to work but that would cause the problem.

Thanks Guys for all your help.
