Ok I have read a few threads about this but am still unclear.

I have a couple of DVD's and games that play on my chipped PS2 and my non-chipped one, but in black and white.

I have had a look and seen that you can but RGB cables that fix this (my TV does have a scart lead, but I doubt its 60Hz, more likely 50Hz?). Will the cable still work or do I need to but the box that actually converts the signal.

    Thanks

BTW, I don't want to open the PS2 up again.

the cable will allow you to play ntsc games in color, but you will get a greenish screen on dvd movies

So even if some DVD's are playing in B&W just now, it will only convert them to the green screen? Not full colour? Would a NTSC -> PAL converter be what I am needing then?

I read that with full rgb cables (all pins connected) you would get rid of the green screen on dvd movies.
Some chips also do the green screen fix / rgb fix.
Mxl2 and R|pper do that. Dunno about the others.
Dvd regionx also takes care of this problem.
    Hope this helps

Engine23, do you mean the NTSC/PAL color fix point or the green fix on DVD movies?

    Hi,

    Maybe I'm stupid, but here's my experience;

I've got a few DVD's which are completely legal. Bought at the
local store in Holland (where I live and bought my PS2). My Ps2 is
is non-modded. All DVD's I've rented are playing fine. Some of my
own DVDs play in B&W though.

I've tried the S-VHS cable. I've tried the full wired RGB cable
but my movies still play in B&W.
I've tried with the ps2 cable which came with the ps2 at my parents place. The DVDs which play B&W at my place, played
in colour at their place. So I guess that the tv you are using
might also be an issue. Mine is 8 years old, and I think I'll just
have to get a more sophisticated tv to get these movies in full
    colour.

    Maybe this helps ...

    Is tv problem.
Have 3 choices for your TV problem .
    1.Make the color fix.
    2.Use a full scart cable
    3.Use a RF modulator.
One of all is ok for you
