v7 39003 UK Messiah 2: a wire on the BIOS broke loose so I resoldered it and now nothing boots up. I've tried everything, PS2, PS1 mode, even turning the chip off, all it does is just spin for a while and then reports disc read error. I've doubled checked everything and tried all different media types, even adjusted the laser and nothing. Whats going on?????!!!!???

OK I'll try that tonight. BTW I always thought the Messiah 2 a proper ROM. If I'm mistaken then, does that mean the M2 is flashable?

Tooke the M2 out, and made sure there was no bridging. No difference, even tried originals. Anyone know what the problem is?

You may have desoldered one or more BIOS legs from the board. Resolder them by applying flux across the legs, tin your iron, and run the iron across them, letting each one heat and suck up some solder underneath each leg. Don't apply too much solder as it doesn't take much to make a good connection. Clean up the area in question with flux remover and verify the connectons.

Nothing wrong with the BIOS legs, I'm sure of that. I reckon a fuse maybe gone, question is which one and how would I go about finding out?
